Our department is dedicated to providing critical and timely care in emergency situations, combining advanced education, hands-on training, and research to excel in the dynamic field of emergency medicine. Here’s what defines our department.
Comprehensive Curriculum: Our curriculum covers essential topics in emergency medicine, including trauma care, resuscitation, acute care of medical and surgical emergencies, disaster medicine, and pre-hospital care. Courses are designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to handle a wide range of urgent and life-threatening situations. Many advanced procedures like endotracheal intubation, intercostal tube insertion, central venous catheter insertion, defibrillation, lumbar puncture, procedural sedation, reduction of fractures and joint dislocations, point of care ultrasound(POCUS), tracheostomy, peripheral nerve block for pain management, gastric lavage and many more are being performed by our expert faculty and are also being trained to our postgraduate residents.
State-of-the-Art Facilities: Our department features modern emergency care facilities like electrocardiogram, arterial blood gas analysis, non-invasive and invasive ventilation, defibrillator, ultrasonography, minor operation theatre, crash carts, advanced simulation labs and emergency care units. Students have access to cutting-edge technology and equipment for emergency diagnostics, treatment, and patient management, ensuring hands-on experience in a realistic setting.
Expert Faculty: Our faculty members are experienced emergency physicians and medical professionals with extensive expertise in Basic Life Support(BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support(ACLS), Advanced Trauma Life Support(ATLS), Advanced Ultrasound Trauma Life Support(AUTLS), Paediatric Advanced Life Support(PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Programme(NRP), National Disaster Life Support(NDLS), Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) and many more. They bring practical insights and knowledge to the classroom and clinical settings, providing personalized mentorship and guidance to support students in their education and career development.
Research and Innovation: Research is a crucial aspect of our department. Students and faculty engage in research projects that explore new approaches to emergency care, improve clinical protocols, and advance patient outcomes. Our research initiatives contribute to the development of best practices and innovations in emergency medicine.
Clinical Training: Our programs offer extensive clinical training, integrating theoretical knowledge with practical experience. Students participate in high-pressure simulations, real-life emergency scenarios, and rotations in emergency departments to develop the skills necessary for effective emergency care. We also offer many courses that are certified by Indian Resuscitation Council Federation Certified (IRCF), American Heart Association (AHA) and RGUHS-JeevaRaksha organisations.
Professional Development: We emphasize the holistic development of our students by offering workshops, seminars, and conferences that promote professional growth. Our department encourages involvement in academic and extracurricular activities, fostering a well-rounded educational experience.
